For years, filing for financial aid required translating legalese, filling out a myriad of
forms and double checking your math. Now, thanks to our new, streamlined aid
application system you can complete your student’s aid application in as few as
five minutes.
Our new process allows our clients to have us estimate their 2007 income based on data
on file. You check a few boxes, hit print (online submission coming soon) and voilá, your student’s aid application is on its way to
completion – long before your taxes are done.
Because aid
is often administered on a first-come first-served basis it is important to
file for assistance as soon as possible. This is especially important for
private school students, who are more likely to receive institutional grants.
PROFILE Schools
Many
private schools participate in the CSS/PROFILE program administered by the
College Board. You can get a list of schools by clicking here. The PROFILE is
far more detailed than the FAFSA. Because of this level of detail we recommend
that parents complete our PROFILE Addendum, which addresses some common
questions asked by schools on the PROFILE. Completing the addendum is not
necessary, but if not completing the addendum we highly suggest providing a
daytime telephone number so we can reach you for additional information.
New Paperwork Requirement
Due to
privacy and legal concerns, we now ask our clients to complete an Appointment
of Personal Representative, a sort of release and authorization,
that allows us to complete these forms for you. It also authorizes us to
complete many common tasks that clients request, such as loan applications and
loan status inquiries.
We
understand that extra paperwork is always a hassle so we have tried to make
this form as simple as possible. Just fill in your name, read it and sign it if
you accept. If you have any questions please give us a call at (717) 508-2000
or e-mail info@completecollegesolutions.com
Each parent
and student that provides information must execute this form. It is included as
part of the data sheet packages. You can print additional pages as necessary or
call us and we will mail them to you.
Costs & Fees
There may
be some fees associated with filing your family’s financial information. Each
family’s contract includes one free filing of financial aid forms. If we are
filing for a second student, or for a second year for
the same student a fee of $100 will apply. This is charged per student.
Remember, this fee covers form service for the entire year for that student –
including loan applications, verifications and institutional forms.
If your
student is applying to a school that participates in the PROFILE program, the
College Board assesses a fee of $9 to register the student and $16 to transmit
the data to each school you select. Please be sure to complete the fee chart at
the end of the data sheet and provide a major credit card or prepay by check.
